Day
4

Today you will be met at your hotel and taken on a Cape Point & Winelands Combo - Tour of the Cape Peninsula including penguins, easy cycling in the Nature Reserve and wine tasting at the oldest wine farms in the Cape - Groot Constantia and Constantia Uitsig.

A leisurely tour through the spectacular setting of the Cape Point Nature Reserve with the option to ride a bike or sit in the tour bus. This is the best way to experience the unique plant and animal life of this area. Biking allows you to participate in this experience rather than observe it from the window of a bus. This unique mode of transport will allow close sightings of ostriches, antelope, baboons and mountain zebra.

The drive to Cape Point is one of the most scenic in the world, with some fantastic views of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, not to mention the indigenous Fynbos. Once at the Nature Reserve the bicycles are unloaded. The bikes are some of the best; each of the high performance Trek's or Gary Fisher's come with front suspension standard. Cycling through this area is an awe-inspiring experience. Smell the unique scent of the Protea, get close to the indigenous animals, feel the sea breeze in your face, and truly feel alive!

The Nature Reserve has spectacular coastal views, beautiful indigenous flora, over 1,100 different species of Fynbos and a 1,000 - 1,600 foot cliff view from the most southerly tip of the Cape Peninsula. This is a natural environment that should not be missed. After the optional easy leisurely ride, have lunch on the beach at Cape Point and take in the vistas. It's moments like these that have made Cape Town one of the world's most popular tourist destinations.

After lunch, pack up and head for the Constantia wine lands. Constantia is home to some of the Cape's finest vineyards. Try out the selection of reds, whites and dessert wines. You will visit two of the top South African wine farms - Constantia Uitsig and Groot Constantia. Find out why South Africa is hailed as one of the finest wine producing countries in the world.

This combination allows you to experience two of the biggest attractions in Cape Town on the same day, but it is in no way rushed.

Day
5

Today you will be met at your hotel and taken on a sandboard and tandem skydive - "join us for three-quarter day sandboarding and end off the day with a buzz by jumping out of a plane next to the Atlantis Sand dunes."

For decades, people of all ages have been sliding down sand dunes on some kind of plank or other, searching for that elusive adrenalin rush that comes from mastering the skill of riding a mountain with break-neck speeds and consequences. True sandboarding is the art of standing with two feet locked onto a board and carving arks down a dune. The beauty of it is that you can control the board & speed by turning, stopping and jumping with easy control of the board. For racing down the dunes we use snowboards with a specialized base. The base is a lamination, which becomes even more slippery the more you ride it. The bindings and boots are exactly the same as for snowboarding. The equipment and movements of sandboarding are similar to snowboarding. It's also a good way to learn snowboarding before you go into the snow. It is easier to learn, but once you can sandboard, you will be able to snowboard. So bring your swimming shorts and kick some dunes!

Tandem skydiving is one of the most thrilling experiences in the world. Find out why it is hailed as the ultimate adrenaline sport. Jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet, and free-falling for 25 - 30 seconds at 124 mph will absolutely blow you away! This much adrenaline should be illegal! This is combined with one of the most stunning aerial views of Cape Town, Table Mountain and Robben Island on a 4-5 minute parachute ride back to earth. No experience is needed. The only criterion that must be adhered to is that jumpers must weigh under 230 pounds. A personalised certificate and optional video will serve as a lasting memory of a unique experience. This evening you will be met at your hotel and transferred to the Africa Café for dinner.

Day
8

Today you will be taken on a private transfer from Grootbos back to Cape Town in time to catch your flight to Victoria Falls via a stop-over in Johannesburg. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Stanley & Livingstone Hotel where you will spend the next three nights in a suite on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and one daily return town transfer.

This fine establishment is reminiscent of history in progress. From the moment you are welcomed at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred in a pristine air-conditioned vehicle to The Stanley & Livingstone Hotel, where you are greeted with a cool cocktail and cold refresher towel, you realize that a discerning choice has been made. The tropical tranquility of this small luxury hotel offers exquisite furnished suites and gracious living rooms, the naturally gracious staff and management, the wealth of bird-life, the calm of the water features and lush gardens, secluded swimming pool, surrounding African bush and private nature reserve. All of this makes for a memorable visit to a stately establishment fit for royalty.

The Victoria Falls are situated on the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. They are approximately 1 mile wide and 420 feet high. They are considered a remarkable spectacle because of the peculiar narrow slot-like chasm into which the water falls, so one can view the falls face-on. David Livingstone, a Scottish explorer, visited the Falls in 1855 and renamed them after Queen Victoria, though they were known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya - "the Smoke that Thunders". The Falls are part of two national parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe, and are one of Southern Africa's major tourist attractions, with visitors from all over the world. The Victoria Falls is the largest single sheet of water in the world, over 328 feet tall and over one mile wide, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This afternoon's activities include a tour of the mighty Victoria Falls, followed by an exhilarating bungee jump and sunset cruise.

It is 364 feet of pure adrenaline rush! The bungee jump operates off the Victoria Falls Bridge over the Zambezi River and has a 100% safety record. Over 50,000 people have committed themselves to the thrill of jumping off of the Bridge. Challenge the limits of the mind and test the edge of fear by leaping off the impressive Bridge, with the Falls behind and the mighty Zambezi River below. Ankle and body harnesses are attached separately to clients. After jumping they are winched back onto the Bridge. Photographs and video are taken of each jumper and are available for purchase.

The great Zambezi River starts in northwest Zambia and meanders for 1,700 miles through several countries and empties into the Indian Ocean at Mozambique. This great River affects thousands of people and animals along the way. The sheer volume of water that flows through this planetary vein and manifests it's grandeur at the famous Victoria Falls, cannot keep from stirring an emotional response from all who visit.

Your guide has a wealth of information about the River's attributes, pointing out everything of interest as you go on the sunset cruise along the River. Your guide's keen eye will spot a variety of wildlife and important highlights. You're likely to see hippo, other animals, birds of prey, and even some elephants along the riverbank or on one of the many islands that occupy this wide River. The highlight of this cruise is the sunset view and therefore the name - SUNSET CRUISE. You will not be disappointed, for words and photographs cannot adequately describe the spectacular view you will experience.

Day
9

Today is another high energy day spent white water rafting on the Zambezi River. The one-day low water White Water Rafting trip is considered to be the best one-day white water experience available in the world. Commercial rafting commenced in 1981 on the Zambezi River below Victoria Falls. In 1996, approximately 50,000 people did white water rafting at the Falls - this increases steadily every year.

The Basalt Gorge below the Falls has been cut over the last 300 million years. The Gorge is approximately 400 feet on entry. On the one day trip, the take out point is approximately 750 feet deep, with a gradient of 1 in 2 - it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk out if you're reasonably fit. The River drops by about 400 feet in the first 15 miles. The River is up to 200 feet deep. The rapids are between 330 feet and 1.2 miles apart. The Zambezi is classified as a high volume, pool drop River.

The Zambezi River floods between mid February and the end of June. Huge volumes, in excess of four times that of the Colorado River flood over the Falls at peak. Nearly half of the rapids are classified as Grade 5 - Grade 6 is "unrunnable". The "low water" run occurs when the Zambezi River is at its low level generally between July and mid-February. This is the most exciting time to do rafting. Day trips are conducted between rapids 1 and 18. The "high water" run follows after fresh inflow from the catchment areas in Angola and Zambia.

The water rises and flows more rapidly and the day trips move downstream from rapids 11 to 23. The steep walls of the gorge are not suited for game. Birdlife is usually very good.

An "Elephant Back Safari" is an unforgettable way to start your day's activities. An elephant back safari is not just a ride on the largest animal in Africa, it's an unforgettable experience where clients get to interact with the elephants as well as enjoy a ride through wilderness areas and beautiful riverine scenery. While on the ride, clients may see other wild elephant as well as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and a host of other plains game. Along the Zambezi River, hippo and crocodile are common and there is a wide variety of bird species. Each elephant has its own handler and clients will leave having witnessed the elephant's incredible skills, intelligence and willingness to respond to instruction. The ride is approximately one hour and the overall interaction time with the elephants is about 3 hours.
