The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve runs parallel to the Western border of the famous Kruger National Park. It covers approximately 185,000 acres of magnificent Mpumalanga Province and provides a variety of habitat for the wild animals which abound in this superb sanctuary.
Endangered species congregate here, including wild dog, cheetah and Cape vultures. The famous white lions were born here and some still roam the territory.
Amongst the game to be spotted in the area are zebra, giraffe, lion, elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo, wildebeest, warthog and hyena just to name a few.

Nestled along the banks of a seasonal river, The Royal Legend's ten luxurious chalets all command a magnificent view of the watercourse and its surrounding lush vegetation. Each chalet was built with minimum intrusion into the natural environment, and guests can appreciate an almost unbroken view of the river from the comfort of their beds through the glass doors on two sides of the chalet.
Each of the widely separated chalets has its own private deck area, where guests can relax with a book from the Lodge's small but select library, or simply bask in the sun, keeping an eye open for the shy creatures that inhabit the river banks.
All of the chalets have air conditioning, the windows have protective mosquito gauze and the have large mosquito nets over the beds. The rooms have telephone facilities and internet connectivity. A bar fridge and a safe are tucked away in reeded cupboards, with a mirrored vanity of beautifully grained indigenous wood counters. The wooden tops are harvested from single slabs of wood, with the curves of the tree providing a sinuous, organic feel.
All rooms have a spacious en-suite bathroom, with spa baths and doubled washbasins. A large shower enclosure leads outdoors into a private outdoor shower with a river bed view.
Individually decorated with understated luxury in mind, the extra-length king or twin bedded rooms feature beaded artwork made by skilled South African women.

Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to see most of the large mammals, so today you will enjoy an early morning game drive as well as a late afternoon/evening game drive. Animals which are mostly seen in the early morning include rhinos, lions, leopards and giraffes. Lions are very active in the early morning and this is when you may see a pride on a kill or moving around with their young. As the day progresses, the animals usually retire to the shade of a tree or bush and may spend the better part of the day sleeping, only to emerge in the late afternoon or evening. Night-time is when the large carnivores - except wild dogs and cheetahs - do their hunting.

An early morning wake-up call gets you out into the bush on the morning safari in search of animals not seen the day before. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, and then fly to your new safari camp for the next two nights.
Arrive in time for lunch and relax at the pool. In the afternoon you will take a game drive in the company of an experienced game ranger. Return to the Camp for dinner and a relaxing evening around the fire sharing your day's experience with the other guests.
Savanna is situated on a farm called Alicecot located in the western sector of the internationally famous and prestigious Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bordering the world famous Kruger National Park.
